About the Team

J.A. McCoy (also writing as C. Smith) is an author whose journey began in her hometown in Indiana and continues in her new home near the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. With a lifelong passion for storytelling, she finds writing to be a therapeutic outlet, helping her navigate life as a neurodivergent individual.
The inspiration for her debut book (written as C. Smith) came from a haunting nightmare that ignited the journey to turn a dream of becoming an author into reality. She hopes to continue down this path in hope of bringing the world together through the power of healing and connection that storytelling brings.

Meet Atlas, the Chief Manuscript Warmer. He has a simple yet powerful philosophy: No book shall be written without sufficient cat interference. He specializes in lap occupation, document obstruction, and urgent meowing for attention at inopportune moments. Atlas believes in quality control, which means all manuscripts must be held hostage under his warm, fluffy presence before release.
When not on duty, he enjoys naps, more naps, and enforcing mandatory cuddling sessions.

Meet Binx, the Emotional Support Menace. He has a clear mission: keep life interesting, keep Atlas awake, and keep J.A. McCoy on high alert at all times. He is a certified office supply relocator, keyboard conqueror, and master of gravity experiments. When not pouncing on unsuspecting victims or climbing to the highest possible perch to rule over his domain, he ensures that no important object is left unknocked over and no nap is undisturbed.
Despite his relentless mischief, he provides top-tier emotional support through face licks, purrs, and the occasional snuggle—strategically timed to minimize repercussions.
